If you still do want to go through DMM and don't live in Japan then note that you only need a VPN to open the launcher and can turn it off immediately after for faster connection. You're probably best off playing the Steam JP version to avoid this hassle as it would a require a vpn every time you launch the game otherwise.

I guess I should probably start off by saying that I primarily play the DMM version of the game so for those who are unaware of the differences here are a few with regards to DMM: If you feel like you already know enough about a certain section then feel free to skip around.

My goal here is to provide anyone with enough information to play the game even if they've never touched it before and to be thorough enough that even if this is the version you choose to start on the language barrier won't be an issue.
